Expamet SMT200 Straight Movement Ties - 100 Pack
Expamet SMT200 Straight Movement Ties are stainless steel expansion joint ties for masonry movement joints in 10–12mm mortar beds. They are supplied complete with debonding sleeves in packs of 100.
The SMT200 Powertie is designed to provide lateral restraint across an expansion or movement joint while still allowing movement within the wall. This helps adjoining masonry panels remain stable without locking the joint solid.

Expansion Joint Ties for Masonry Movement Joints
SMT200 straight movement ties are used where masonry panels meet at an expansion or movement joint. The tie provides restraint across the joint, while the debonding sleeve allows the necessary movement as the masonry expands and contracts.
They are not a substitute for standard cavity wall ties. Standard wall ties are used to connect masonry leaves across a cavity, while expansion joint ties are used across designed movement joints in masonry.
Important Selection Note
Movement joint design, tie spacing and installation should follow the project specification and relevant technical guidance. Before ordering, check the joint width, mortar bed size, required embedment, wall construction and any engineer, architect, building control or warranty-provider requirements.
